SEPANG, June 2 — Haj pilgrims stranded in Makkah for a month expressed their appreciation to the Madani government for bringing them home safely.

PUTRAJAYA, May 14 — Lembaga Tabung Haji (TH) has not received an official report about Malaysians being stranded in Makkah and Madinah after allegedly being deceived by the offer of haj packages using tourist visas.

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 2 — A total of 132 police reports in connection with cases of fraudulent haj and umrah packages using the furada visa have been recorded as of July 31 involving losses of over RM5.6 million.

KUALA LUMPUR, July 12 — The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) has received a total of 72 reports nationwide related to fraudulent haj pilgrimage packages, against three travel agencies, involving losses amounting to RM3.95 million.

KUALA LUMPUR, July 11 — The Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (Matta) has suggested that the authorities make cases of travel agencies cheating haj pilgrims a serious crime with a prison sentence to eradicate the scam.

KUALA LUMPUR, July 10 — Police have detained five locals, including two women to assist in the investigation into an alleged haj package and visa scam.
